As I sit down to write this, I can't believe May is almost here. Today students had their pep rally for Colonial Day. Colonial Day is this Friday, May 2. I can't wait to see everyone dressed in the Colonial wears. I will post lots of pictures.
Colonial Day is the first of many events happening this month. Please check our classroom calendar for updated information.
Next week students with participate in the Fifth Grade Math MCAS on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs Doherty and Mrs. Mercer have been preparing students and reviewing major math concepts. Our field trips are planned for the following Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday and Thursday, students will take their first science MCAS.
Also Friday, May 16 is half day for professional development. Did I mention we are busy?
All the while, we are still learning about simple machines, poetry, the colonies and more math. Students have been working so hard, they have also earn enough tickets (500 tickets to be exact) to celebrate. Today we decided on an ice cream party, I will let you know the date soon.
I am so pleased Spring is here(I think) and we can start enjoying the weather.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
