We did it! Welcome Back! The first week of school went great. I hope your child shared with you information about our first few days. But, if your child is anything like my son, I get the same information every day; “school was fine” and “no we learned nothing new”. I assure you, we are learning and discovery every day.
I like to use this blog to communicate to parents and share all the fantastic things we do each day. Please visit the website and check your child’s homework. Each student is still required to write their homework in their agenda, but I use the website to clearly inform the student and parents.
At this time, the students have begun changing classes for math and social studies. My homeroom students will have Mrs. Oeser-Rhein for math every day after lunch. After math, students will alternate and have science with me or social studies with Mrs. Robertson.
Within the next few weeks, students will be getting homework assignments. In English Language Arts, the student will be assigned the week’s worth of homework. I know all the students are busy both in and outside of school. With your help, I would like the students to plan and manage their time with homework. If any frustrations arise, please do not hesitate to email.
This is a wonderful class! Everyone is eager and enthusiastic. I have seen everyone pitching in and helping one another. Each week students get a classroom job, please ask your child, what their job is this week. Our class pets arrived today, we are deciding on their names at morning meeting.
Finally, If you haven’t already returned the first day information, please return as soon as possible.
Have a wonderful week,
Mrs. Pittorino
