I think it’s technically spring, I think. Hello parents. So sorry it is been quite sometime since I've been able to blog. We've been quite busy finishing our nonfiction writing pieces, beginning our new unit of rocks and minerals in science and beginning our new unit in persuasive writing.
Tomorrow the students will take the first section of the PARCC test. We have been working since the beginning of the school year talking about different text, comparing contrasting them, analyzing authors point of view and comprehending the stories, so that you were able to write and retell with detail and evidence. I am confident the students are as prepared as possible to embark on this new assessment. I hope you're not finding the children are nervous my mantra for the last few weeks has been " do your best. And use everything you've been taught." If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
We are excited about our upcoming play. We will be attending the play "Miss Nelson is Missing" at Mechanics Hall on April 2nd. Students will need to bring a bag lunch that day.
Also Science Showcase will take place on April 13th. Parents and families are welcome to attend from 8:30 till 10:15. I am excited to see all the students research and experiments, they been working on for the past several weeks.
Please check our classroom calendar for other upcoming dates; Colonial Day, Science MCAS and PARCC End of Year Assessments, and Field Trips.
Enjoy your week!
