Well I think it's safe to say that Spring is finally here. I know I am enjoying these warmer days and the chance to get outside as often as possible. I just finished reading your child's April vacation update. It was great to see many of the students getting fresh air, playing sports, and getting together with friends and family.
April seems to have flown by with Friday being May already. We are in our final stretch to the end of the school year. On Friday, May 1 the students will participate in Colonial Day. This is a great day and a fun opportunity for the children to experience activities and games once celebrated by colonial children. Next week on Tuesday and Wednesday all fifth-grade students will be taking the science MCAS. We've been preparing these coming weeks so that they are familiar with the questions and I am confident they will do a great job. Towards the middle of the month students will take the end of year PARCC assessment for ELA and math.
There are also many dates in the month of May celebrating our fifth grade orchestra, band and choral groups. Please check the calendar for the dates and times of these events. I know many students are busy after school with spring sports and other commitments, We still have a lot of curriculum to cover and additional projects to be completed. I ask you to remind your student to stay focused and on task for the remainder of the year. I've enjoyed watching their growth both academically and socially throughout the year. I'm very proud of their accomplishments.
Best Regards,
